"Computers for Dumb Dumbs"

In my computer class we have started going over the basic requirments that the school has put on for the class. I was looking at the book just so that I could fill out the vocab sheet and was shocked at how much of the stuff was very simple. I almost think that the book was written for people who have absolutely zero knowledge of computers. The book should be titled Computers for Dumb Dumbs.

Yes, I realize that there are those who aren't as familiar with computers as some. If they are non-trads, non-traditional student, who never had to deal with computers than I might be able to understand. But the book really covers the basics. For example: output device, input device, bug, and so on. If someone doesn't know those things they should take a seperate class.

The Quickly Approaching Summer

Thankfully school is about out for the year. This means that I get to a reprive from writing papers for a few months. I also don't have to wake up too early for the foreseeable future, among other things. What this does mean though is that I have to try and find a summer job. That isn't all that bad of an idea since I do need the money. It'd also give me something to do with my time other than watching tv, reading and wasting time online.

Of fate and hot sauce

I will readily admit my fondness for spicey foods. Some(most) of my friends however don't seem to understand my appreciation this type of food. I've started to get comments whenever I've eaten pizza and put hot sauce on it. The comments have all pretty much to the effect of how the pizza was ruined because of the hot sauce or how the thought of hot sauce on pizza was disgusting. The whole time I was thinking something to the degree of "Hey, if you can't stand hot sauce, stick to ketchup and I won't openly mock you for that. Too much." ;)

I may not put hot sauce on pizza if the pizza were any good. Well, ok maybe I would simpely because it's that good.

Dangerous Computer Users?

I don't get the point of why some people have anti-spyware progams on their computers but never update it. I was a friends place this evening and I was bored. So what did I do when I notice that she had an anti-spyware program on her computer? I checked to see how out of date it was. Um, yeah it was at least a year out of date. I only managed to get it updated part way since some friends and I who were there ended up playing a game of spades. I honestly don't even want to know how out of date her virus scanning program was out of date.

I think that these types of people should not be allowed to get on the internet or at least on unsupervised. I only say that since they're putting the rest of us at higher risk.

Boycottation of Country Music

I think that I should state for the record that I'm not a fan of country music as a whole, I'm quite the opposite. But every once and a while a song catches my attention. I heard a Rascal Flatts song the other day, by accident, and was basically surprised that it sounded scarcely more than a pop song with a country twang. It could just be me but something is not quite right with the world when country infects an already diseased form of music. I don't have a problem with some of the older country stuff but the newer stuff just seems like pure drivel.

If you like country than please don't take this as a personal attack. I just really don't like country.

Very, very interesting

So it turns out that Coca-Cola has a relatively new drink that is part coffee and part soda. I haven't personally tried it or really heard anything about it so don't really know anything about it. The only reason I know about is that my roommate has an empty bottle on his desk. I don't know if it's worth shelling out $X.xx for it but it sounds interesting.

"I don't get it."

I know that I've complained about having to deal with stupid people before but I just experienced something tonight at dinner that just left me a little stunned. While eating dinner with some friends in the cafeteria this almost stereotypical blonde, the type the jokes are based on, sits down. The way that I know that she's a stereotypical blonde, besides the fact that she just comes across that way, is that a freind was telling a joke and she didn't get it. It wouldn't have been so bad if she had gotten it the first time the joke was explained. The joke had to be explained at least three different ways.

I always thought that the jokes didn't have much basis in reality but this individual almost makes me wonder.

Born in East L.A.

I'm not really sure how to fix the problem of illegal immegration. I do think that there needs to be far stricter policy in place and actually have it/them enforced on a regular basis. If you want to read some intesting ideas on how to deal with the problem go to Thid World County. If they were implanted they may do better than the current policy.

Location undetermined

Ok, this just shows how out of touch I am. I stopped by The Truth Laid Bear a few minutes ago and found out that bloggers can create an account, "claim and directly edit the URLs associated with it." The reason that I say that I'm out of touch is that this little feature seems to have gone into effect the sixteenth of last month. I think that this may come in handy but time may only tell.

Ron Burundy is an elf?

I don't understand the popularity of Will Farrell. I say this because many of my freinds really seem to love movies that he's in. For them anything that Will Farrell is in is pretty much comedic gold. In my opinion anything that he's in is basically crap. I think that a few of his jokes are amusing but over all he isn't at all funny. A freind, who isn't as rabid of a fan, once explained that may have had to do with ridiculas humor. I just basically think that my freinds who are fans of Will Farrill just don't have the best of taste. If you have any insight as to the popularity of Will Farrill please leave a comment.
