Ron Burundy is an elf?

I don't understand the popularity of Will Farrell. I say this because many of my freinds really seem to love movies that he's in. For them anything that Will Farrell is in is pretty much comedic gold. In my opinion anything that he's in is basically crap. I think that a few of his jokes are amusing but over all he isn't at all funny. A freind, who isn't as rabid of a fan, once explained that may have had to do with ridiculas humor.
