I'll have a double espresso half caff...to go.

I when my parents and I were visiting family this weekend I noticed something that I thought was amusing and strang. This thing that I noticed was that a Starbuckss in the city where my relatives live had a drive through window. Is it just me or is this strange? I mean really how rushed for time do you have be to not be able to go inside and wait to get coffee? If a person is so rushed than they should either brew their own coffee or leave earlier. Maybe there is something that I'm not seeing but it doesn't make sense to me that someone would use a drive through window for overpriced coffee.

"I've got a lot of problems with you people..."

This evening my parents and I were coming home from visiting family and we found out that "Oh, wow the car horn works again!" The story behind that one is that it hadn't been working for a while and has been looked at, the repair was pending. I joking thought at first that it was a Christmas miracle until I thought to check what the date was. The reason that I asked the date was because I remembered a Seinfeld episode and knew that it was close to being the 23rd (yeah, I actually forgot that it was the 23rd). I'm sure that if you're a fan of the show you know where I'm going with this. As soon as I was told that it is the 23rd I said "It's a Festivus miracle!" I don't know about you but that's funny.

So, I hope that you've had/have fun observing Festivus this year. If you haven't yet go get started, you still have time.

Fair? Maybe not...

I don't really understand why when playing the multi-player aspect of a game why people screen watch. I mean really aren't these people good enough to hunt the other people down without resorting to what basically is cheating? This little rant comes about as a result of a bit of an argument while playing Halo 2 about an hour ago. I admit I'm not great but I'm not bad. I might should that I'm not 100% purely innocent of catching a glimpse of the other people's screen from time to time. This however isn't not me going out of my way to look at it to determine where they are or to avoid getting shot at. I just happen to catch movement out of the corner of my eye and just glance for about a couple seconds and than look away. What gets me is the people who make a habit of looking and using this as a means of winning. Also when these same people are confronted about this they weakly attempt to justify themselves with the excuse that everyone has the capability of looking so it must be fair. Well to anyone who reads this post and is a screen watcher guess what? No, it's not really the fairest thing in the world.

Here's an analogy, maybe not a perfect one but hey who cares. A piece of candy is in a store everyone who walks into the store and walks down that isle has the opportunity to steal that piece of candy but only one person does. Is it fair to the store? The other customers who walked that isle but didn't steal the piece of candy? To the customers who didn't even go near the candy?Everyone who walked down the candy isle had a chance to steal that piece of candy but that doesn't make the theft of the candy fair to anyone.

"...the desert of the real."

It's finally finals week and I am not sure if I'm excited about it. I say that because I'm glad that the semester is over an that I won't hopefully have to write as many papers next semester. However next semester is my last so that means that I will have to go out into the real world. Leaving college isn't a bad thing, I am actually glad to be leaving but I'm just unsure of what I'll be doing. At times I really wish that life were less unclear.

Santa shops here

I've noticed a silly trend. That trend is that of stores and companies having actors portraying Santa going and buying toys or other products as gifts. I mean really, why would Santa need to buy toys when he has a workshop? That just doesn't make much sense from a consistency perspective. However it does make sense from a marketing perspective, I guess.

Rules of rough housing

A friend of mine doesn't seem to understand that he really ought not horse play with women. I am saying this in part because he's a big guy I mean really big. He also doesn't seem to know when he's going overboard. I say this not to be mean but to simply state the facts. I've repeatedly tried to explain to him that he runs the risk of hurting the women that he's playing with but he just doesn't seem to listen very well. I tell him that it's about respect. A man just doesn't strike a women even in jest. A guy can rough house with another guy as long as the other guy doesn't mind but those rules don't apply when interacting with women. I don't know I guess it's about upbringing, at least to a certain degree.

Don't get me wrong I like the guy, he's one of my closest friends. It's just that he doesn't really seem to get it, you know?
